Fran is very in touch with his subject matter as it relates to humanity as well as the environment and the body of his work reflects this very sentiment. “Certainly there is much happening globally—climate change, social justice—and I believe the art can do much to influence the consciousness of a society.”

For those looking to make a mark in the art world, Fran offers simple yet profound advice: “Stay curious. Don’t be afraid to fail. Experience, because that is where learning takes place. He was keen to argue that an artist’s process is not about getting good, it’s about being true to yourself. Most art does not care about having some sort of technique or skill—art is more about truth-telling.
